The objective of this design is to provide a practical alternative for students and workers who walk daily, reducing the dependence on portable chargers that constantly run out of battery by using a charger capable of generating energy during use.
Deine Inspiration
My inspiration came from conventional umbrellas and portable solar chargers. I wanted to take advantage of the sun exposure umbrellas already receive to generate clean energy and store it through an internal power bank system. This allows users to protect themselves from the sun while also having an emergency charging source for their phones outdoors.

* The solar panels capture sunlight and generate energy. * The energy travels through internal wiring to the storage system located inside the handle. * The internal power bank stores the generated energy. * The user can activate the system using the power button. * The phone connects through the USB or USB-C ports to receive emergency charging.
Designprozess
The idea for this project came from the need many people have to keep their phones charged while spending long periods away from home. Inspired by portable solar chargers and power banks, I decided to integrate solar panels into an umbrella so users could protect themselves from the sun while also generating and storing clean energy for emergency phone charging. The process started with quick sketches to explore how to integrate the solar panels without affecting the umbrella’s functionality. Over time, I improved the design by adding an internal power bank, USB and USB-C ports, independent buttons, and a foldable shaft system. I also worked on the aesthetics, ergonomics, and materials to create a more modern, functional, and comfortable product. Currently, the project includes technical views, general measurements, and a more developed visual proposal focused on offering an innovative and sustainable portable charging solution.
Warum es anders ist
My project stands out by transforming an everyday object into a technological and sustainable solution that can be used in daily life without changing the way people normally use it. Unlike other portable charging methods, this design takes advantage of solar energy directly from an umbrella, allowing energy to be generated and stored while the user is moving. In addition, the components are integrated in a discreet and functional way, maintaining the comfort, portability, and usefulness of the product. Some of its key features are: * Uses renewable energy * Provides portable emergency charging * Integrates technology into an everyday object * Functional and practical design * Reduces dependence on conventional electricity * Innovative and user-friendly concept All of this is combined into a single product designed to help people stay connected anywhere in a more comfortable and sustainable way.
